Before during and after a set of drawings have been tendered for bid the General Contractor can offer suggestions of constructability and value engineering ideas as well as de-scope the subcontractors and secure manpower and material unit pricing for the projects adds and deducts.
The General Contractor is then awarded the job based on qualifications, depth of resources, financial stability, reputation and references as well as understanding of the assignment. A general contractor’s price can also be negotiated into a guaranteed maximum fixed price based on the construction documents bid and then all subcontractor work is coordinated and executed.
